Calendered Rubber Sheet and Strip

We calender mixed compound into sheet or strip at your thickness and width: compound that goes straight into the mould and cuts preparation time and scrap.

What calendered compound gives the moulder

Calendered rubber sheet is mixed compound passed between heated rolls to a constant thickness. For the moulder it means the mould charge can be cut by weight, preform time drops, scrap falls and every cycle uses the same amount of compound. Strip feeds injection machines; slabs go into compression presses.

Delivery forms

  • Sheet rolls: polyethylene liner, your width and thickness
  • Strip: cut for injection feeding, on rolls
  • Slabs: cut to size, on pallets
  • Uncalendered compound: if you calender in-house

Thickness and width are set to specification within the line's capacity; thickness is measured on every roll. Scorch safety is formulated for the calender temperature so the sheet stores safely until moulding.

Which compounds can be calendered?

All EPDM, NBR, SBR, NR and CR technical compounds. Calender behaviour is part of the recipe: process oil, filler type and viscosity are chosen with sheet surface quality and shrinkage in mind. When ordering calendered compound, simply tell us your moulding method (compression, transfer, injection) and cycle temperature.

Shelf life and storage

Store calendered compound cool, away from direct sunlight and with its liner. The recommended use-by period depends on the recipe and is printed on the batch label; rheometer values are measured before shipment to confirm cure behaviour is within specification.

Quality and traceability

Every sheet batch is linked to its compound batch's weighing records and laboratory results (rheometer ISO 6502, Mooney ISO 289, hardness ISO 48-4, tensile ISO 37). Our quality system is certified to IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015; a certificate of analysis is available on request.

Frequently asked questions

What thickness range can you produce?

From thin strip to thick slab within the line's capacity; share the thickness and width you need and we will confirm.

Can I get strip for my injection machine?

Yes. Strip width and thickness are cut to your machine's feed and delivered on liner rolls.

How long can sheet be stored?

It depends on the recipe; each batch label states the recommended use-by period. Store cool and dark, with the liner.

Can you calender my own recipe?

Yes. Under toll compounding your recipe is adapted to the calender process and delivered as sheet or strip.
